Frequently Asked Questions
What Can I Expect in My First Therapy/Counseling Session?
In your initial session, we immediately commence with the therapeutic or counseling process. This approach ensures that we utilize our time effectively, focusing on your specific needs and goals from the outset. Our detailed intake forms are designed to gather essential background information beforehand, allowing us to bypass preliminary introductions and delve directly into meaningful and productive discussion, leaving you with tools and solutions from the first session.
Do you plan on using health insurance or self pay?
Self pay is accepted for Christian Counseling, Life Coaching, and Therapy
Where are you located?
If you are using your health insurance, you must reside in Florida, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
Location does not matter for Christian Counseling and Life Coaching, or for any self pay session.
What is the difference between your services?

Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare? No, we do not.
Do I get charged for setting up an appointment?
Self-pay -> Yes, if you are self-pay, full payment is made when making the appointment
Using insurance -> No, if you are using your health insurance, while a credit/debit card is required to book an appointment, it will not be charged unless it is for a no-show fee.
Can I get a refund if I miss my appointment?
Self-pay -> There are no refunds for missed appointments. The payment for a missed appointment cannot be used for a future appointment. You must make a new payment for each new appointment. This policy is in place to prevent no shows and to honor the counselor's time.
Using insurance -> We will not bill your insurance, but will charge you a no show fee stated on the intake form with the card used at booking.
Can I reschedule an appointment? We understand life happens. We ask that you give us a 24 hours advanced notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Please refer to the confirmation email you received upon booking the session. You will be able to reschedule as long as it’s at least 24 hours in advance from your session.
Self-pay -> You will be able to reschedule via the confirmation email, and no further payment will be needed when selecting the new day/time. If you need to cancel and don’t have a reschedule date in mind, please send us a text (305-925-0827) or email (hello@therapeacecounseling.org) and we will credit it to your account for a future session. You must use your credit within 30 days of your original scheduled session. No refunds are provided.
If I am 17 and younger, can I schedule an appointment? We think it is awesome that young people are willing to seek counsel. We would require a legal guardian/parent to consent for you to receive services.
Question: Do You Only Provide Counseling to Christians?
No, we welcome individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their religious or spiritual beliefs. It's important to note, however, that our therapists and counselors practice from a Christian perspective. As long as you are comfortable receiving counseling from professionals who integrate Christian principles into their practice, we are more than ready to support and assist you on your journey towards well-being and personal growth.
How do I know if I am ready to start? The fact that you got this far means you are ready to take the next step. Why prolong your peace of mind any longer? Schedule a session today!
